Loulé High School students study the landscape of yesterday and today in Europe

All travel and accommodation expenses were financed by the National Erasmus+ Swedish Agency

Students Marco Coelho, Sofia Barruncho, Leonor Reis and Raquel Homem and teachers Duarte Duarte and Paulo Ribeiro, from the Loulé Secondary School, were, from November 28th to December 3rd, in the city of Lund, Sweden, as part of the Erasmus+ project Landscape Yesterday and Today.

This was the first mobility of the project entitled “The landscape of yesterday and today”, which seeks to analyze the landscape, capture the changes that have taken place in the last 100 years and explain them from a historical, biological, geographic and environmental perspective.

The project includes a strong technological component, as it uses information technologies to explore and map the landscape, namely geographic information systems (GIS) and GPS devices.

GIS are used to map the landscape and to capture and record land use changes in the landscape in the regions of participating schools: Portugal, the Czech Republic, Romania and Sweden.

In addition to the usual cultural activities, Portuguese students learned about the landscape of each of the countries and regions of the partner schools, carried out practical activities to apply and explore these landscapes and hosted a workshop where they shared resources about the Algarve and Loulé region.

All travel and accommodation expenses were financed by the Swedish Erasmus+ National Agency.
