UAlg discusses “Insulin dependence in a travel context. Needs and challenges”

Initiative takes place within the scope of the commemorations of the 100th anniversary of the discovery of insulin

The Center for Research in Tourism, Sustainability and Well-Being (CinTurs) of the University of Algarve (UAlg) is organizing this Wednesday, 24 November, at 14 pm, the seminar “Insulin dependence in the context of travel. Needs and challenges”.

The initiative has the presence of two “storytellers”: Catarina Mendanha, author of the book “Maria discovers diabetes”, and journalist João Leal who will talk about their life experience with diabetes.

On the theme “Medicine and Congeners”, specialists Carlos Godinho, coordinator of the Diabetology Unit (University Hospital Center of the Algarve) and Maria Moniz, nutritionist, will participate.

From the perspective of “Tourism”, the seminar will count with the participation of Fátima Catarina, vice-president of the Algarve Tourism Region and vice-president of the Algarve Tourism Association, and Reinaldo Silhéu, Quality, Environment and Safety director, of Vila Gale, SA

The debate, which will take place in online format (via zoom), will be moderated by Marta Duarte, a journalist from Agência Lusa.
