The Chamber of Tavira presented an application to the Fund for Asylum, Migration and Integration, with a view to drawing up a municipal strategy for the integration of migrants, which promotes the reception and inclusion of this population.
«The Municipal Plan for the Integration of Migrants (PMIM) has as its principle the implementation of a strategic instrument that will make viable the principles and perspectives of municipal action in line with the guidelines issued at European and national level, through the Common Agenda for Integration and of the Strategic Plan for Migration», describes the Chamber of Tavira.
The elaboration of the Tavira PMIM constitutes «a fundamental tool for the implementation of migration policies of a transversal nature in supporting the reception, monitoring, integration and social inclusion of migrants, fostering participatory actions and corrective responses in this area, based on a multi-vector approach».
