The municipality of São Brás de Alportel supported the publication of the work “União Desportiva e Recreativa Sambrasense: 50 years of memories”, launched in August by the community, as part of the strategy to support associations and continuing the effort developed by the municipality in favor of appreciation of local history.
This is a work by São Brás de Alportel journalist Isa Vicente, who «immortalizes moments of this association whose dynamics marked and marks the cultural and sporting history of the municipality of São Brás de Alportel», says the municipality.
It is an «investment in the preservation and enhancement of local memory through the contribution of testimonies from athletes, managers, coaches, among many other personalities who are part of the club's history and sports development, especially in the football modality with the São Brasense community».
Vitor Guerreiro, Mayor, considers that this new work «depicts, through its protagonists, a story of sports passion that aggregates generations, promotes friendship, volunteer work and dedication to competition and sports training. A whole universe that is reborn in this captivating book enriched with half a century of history and memories lived and told in the first person».
The publication of this work had the financial support of 4.260 euros, which allowed the printing of 500 copies.
