Four tons of oysters seized in Olhão for lack of "traceability"

Four tons of oysters (tridacna gigas), without proof of registration proving where they came from, were seized this Tuesday, November 23, in Olhão. 

In a press release, the GNR says that the military inspected three men, aged between 25 and 40 years, "who were unloading oysters from a vessel to a vehicle, without being accompanied by any proof of registration documents. the origin of the bivalves'.

"The introduction for consumption, without guaranteed hygienic conditions, can put the public health of citizens at risk, which is why the oysters were seized, and the respective administrative offense was prepared", adds the GNR.

The seized bivalves were returned to their natural habitat.
