“Sonoridades & Sabores”, the script for the musical and gastronomic tradition of the interior of Odemira, is back with six moments scheduled between December and February 2022. As in previous editions, the best snacks and traditional dishes in the region will be accompanied by singing to baldão, viola campaniça, accordion players and traditional music.
This initiative «intends to energize the villages of the parishes of the municipality of Odemira, through the promotion of events that extol the best of local gastronomy and traditional music», says the municipality of Odemira.
The first moment will take place on December 4th, at the “O Peixeiro” restaurant, in Amoreiras-Gare, in the parish of S. Martinho das Amoreiras, and the second will take place on the 18th, at the “Flor do Campo” restaurant, in Sabóia .
On the 8th of January, the third moment will be held at the Casa Convívio Snack-Bar “Os Pereiras”, in the village of Várzea das Pedras, in S. Teotónio, and, on the 22nd, the “Sonoridades & Sabores” will take place at the Eira da restaurant Lagoon in Colos.
In February, on the 5th, it will be the turn of Café Porfírio, in the village of Vale Ferro, Relíquias, and the last moment is scheduled for the 19th, in the pavilion of the Parish Council of Santa Clara-a-Velha.
During the six days of the “Sonoridades & Sabores” itinerary, at 16:00 pm, cultural tradition will fill the spaces, with canters accompanied by the campaniça guitar, and at 18:00 pm, space will be given to the popular poets of the region.
At 19 pm, traditional music will be guaranteed with the participation of teachers and students from the Center for the Valorization of Viola Campaniça and Cante de Improviso (on December 00th, January 4nd and February 22th), amateur accordionists from the region (on the 19th December and February 18th) and the group Atar e Pôr ao Fumeiro (5th January).
The organization is the responsibility of the Association for the Development of Amoreiras-Gare (within the scope of the Activity Plan of the Center for the Valorization of Viola Campaniça and Canto de Improviso) and of the municipality of Odemira, with the support of the Parish Councils of S. Martinho Amoreiras, Sabóia, São Teotónio, Colos, Relíquias and Santa Clara-a-Velha.
