Luís Encarnação, mayor of Lagoa, is the new chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Portuguese Municipalities of Wine (AMPV). The inauguration took place last Thursday, November 25, with the presence of Maria do Céu Antunes, Minister of Agriculture.
Since its constitution in 2007, AMPV – Association of Portuguese Wine Municipalities was presided over by the municipality of Cartaxo, and now there is a change.
José Arruda, secretary general of AMPV, reveals that «this is a natural change within an association that is growing from year to year, which represents an increasing number of municipalities, which see its network from day to day. of work and partnerships that are getting stronger and more dynamic, leading different, differentiating and ambitious projects in the areas of promoting wine, wine tourism, gastronomy or even olive oils».
The elections for the Governing Bodies for the 2021-2025 quadrennium took place last Thursday, the 25th of November, at the association's headquarters, in Santarém.
In addition to Luís Encarnação, the mayor Francisco Lopes, from Lamego, was elected as chairman of the Board of the Intermunicipal Assembly.
On the same date, the inauguration took place, also in Santarém.
The ceremony honored the mayors who left office in AMPV's previous term, namely Pedro Ribeiro, outgoing chairman of the Board of Directors, Ângelo Moura, outgoing chairman of the Board of the Intermunicipal Assembly, and José Calixto, chairman of RECEVIN – European Network of Cities in Wine.
