The connection between music and image is the main theme of the Som Riscado festival, which runs its sixth edition from Wednesday until Sunday, with shows and installations in three cultural spaces in Loulé.

Paulo Silva, programmer at Cineteatro Louletano, told the Lusa agency that Som Riscado has had several formats and has been “adapted over the years”, and in this edition it will be able to “return to the original format, albeit with some restrictions”, motivated by the current situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, but without the constraints of last year.

“The idea will always be to have a festival that links music and image, which has been the cornerstone of this festival. This year it will last for five days and will take place in three locations, there will be shows at the Cineteatro Louletano, at the Solar da Música Nova and at the Convento de Santo António”, said the programmer of the event.

Paulo Silva reported on the shows and installations that the festival will bring to the public in the Algarve, such as the opening, on Wednesday, “at 18 pm, at the convent of Santo António, where there will be two initiatives, the first the installation ' Caveira's Multichannel', by Folha de Medronho”, which is “sound, in a cube, and is an immersive installation”, where one person at a time enters and in which “sound and silence” are worked.

"It's a multi-sensory experience, we try to nullify everything else, vision and hearing, only one person can enter at a time and the experience lasts five minutes per person, being intended for the public in schools, in the morning, and for the general public , in the afternoon, with free access”, he explained.

On Wednesday, at 19 pm, "there will be a concert by the Contracello, in which cello and image will be joined", in a "show connecting image and sound, which is what we intend with this festival", he anticipated .

“On the 25th, we will have a multidisciplinary play that is the meeting between Yola Pinto and Simão Costa, which will take place at 21 pm at the Cineteatro Louletano, in which they will mark a decade of artistic collaboration, with choreographies, and will be accompanied by a pianist, with a very multimedia show too”, he referred.

The third day of the festival will have as main stage the auditorium of the Solar da Música Nova, where the show “Música para os Algarvios do Futuro, a project by Tiago Pereira and Sílvio Rosado, which aims to encourage young people to create new pieces” is scheduled. , according to Paulo Silva.

“The intention here is to bring together all the sounds of the Algarve, together with students from the conservatory, in order to make some original creations and leave a document, so to speak, sound and visual too, about the future of the Algarve”, revealed.

On Saturday, also in the auditorium of the Solar da Música Nova, at 17 pm, the “A Azenha project” takes to the stage, which brings together the guitarist best known as Son da Mãe, with his wife [Cláudia Guerreiro], who will be doing all the work. live visual part, in real time", and at night it will be time to "watch, at the Cineteatro Louletano, Marta Jardim's "Travessias", which is dance in conjunction with theatre", in a multidisciplinary representation, he also said. the programmer.

“On the 28th, we will have Garota Não, who is coming to Loulé for the first time, for a concert at 17 pm, and we will close with the Sensible Soccers, with her new work, called 'Manoel', in which films and images from Manoel de Oliveira and it will be at the Cineteatro, at 00 pm”, he added.

Paulo Silva considered that, with this poster and some "adaptations", it will be possible to have "a festival similar to previous years", with a "certain normality", despite the increase in Covid-19 cases that has been registered in Portugal and throughout Europe, because people who attend cultural spaces are compliant” and this “allows the shows to take place without risk”.
