CHUA launches health literacy project “A Insulina Sai à Rua”

The health literacy project “A Insulina Sai à Rua” will be publicly presented by the University Hospital Center of the Algarve (CHUA) this Friday, November 12, at 11:00 am, in the auditorium of the Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR) of the Algarve, in Faro. The project involves, so far, 22 partners around 40 initiatives will take place in the Algarve region for about two months.

In the presentation session, «the project, the initiatives that embody it and the partners that comprise it will be made known», as well as «the graphic proposals of the entire postcard that CTT – Correios de Portugal will issue, specifically, will be presented. associate with the project,” explains CHUA.

This project is aimed at the Algarve community and the general public and «intends to mark the XNUMXth anniversary of the discovery of insulin and, at the same time, promote the health sector and the Algarve region, inclusion and CHUA as a healthcare institution concerned with the population which serves, as well as stimulating the link between science, art and education».

“A Insulina Sai à Rua”, developed and coordinated by CHUA, through the Diabetology Unit, has partners from several Algarve municipalities, regional associations and various regional and national entities.

Over two months, around 40 activities will be promoted, such as street actions, technical interventions in the community, webinars themes, videos, testimonies and audiovisual supports, artistic, scientific and recreational initiatives and active participation in social media, digital social networks and other advertising platforms and spaces.

All activities, programming and information on the subject will also be available at a click away from the website and which will also be presented at the session.

The ceremony will feature interventions by the president of the Algarve CCDR José Apolinário, the vice-rector of the University of Algarve Ana de Freitas, the president of the Association for the Study of Diabetes Mellitus and Support for Diabetics in the Algarve, Eurico Gomes, the director of Medical Service 1, Ana Maria Lopes, and executive member of the Board of Directors of CHUA, Paulo Neves.
