António Zambujo gives a concert this Saturday, December 4th, from 21 pm, at the Municipal Auditorium of Olhão.

The bejense will be accompanied by six other musicians, in a show that will serve to publicize his eighth album, “Do Avesso”, but which will also include older themes known to all or songs from his most recent record work.

“Do Avesso” is António Zambujo's eighth album which, like his previous albums, was presented on stages all over the world and has now arrived in Olhão. The musician performs at the Municipal Auditorium alongside Bernardo Couto (Portuguese guitar), Diogo Costa (double bass), João Moreira (trumpets), José Conde (clarinets), Luís Figueiredo (piano) and Nuno Rafael (guitars and percussion).

Zambujo, with this work, reinvented himself again and expanded the boundaries of his musical language, using the participation of the Orquestra Sinfonietta de Lisboa and the contribution of three of the most talented national musicians and producers: Filipe Melo, Nuno Rafael and João Moreira ( these last two will also accompany him on this night in Olhão).

This show, which has the seven musicians on stage, invites the audience to celebrate the songs of this Do Avesso, as well as discover new arrangements of themes that have already become classics in Zambujo's career.

In this show, there will still be time for the presentation of some songs from his new record work. Published in April this year, Voz e Violão was inspired by the name of one of the albums in his life: João Voz e Violão, an album by João Gilberto published in 1999, and goes back, nothing accidentally, to the essentials.

Born in Beja, António Zambujo is one of the greatest contemporary artists, authors and interpreters of Portuguese music and language, and one of its most notable ambassadors in the world. In his childhood spent in Alentejo, António Zambujo grew up with a strong connection to music: he started studying clarinet at the age of eight, but it was above all the living tradition of Alentejo singing and fado that made him a musician.

According to DGS guidelines, it is mandatory to wear a mask and hand disinfection inside the Auditorium. Among the measures to control the covid-19 pandemic that come into force on December 1st, there is also the mandatory presentation of a digital certificate.
