A 65-year-old man of English nationality died this afternoon, after feeling sick on the beach at Odeceixe, in the municipality of Aljezur.
The alert was received at 15:00 by the Voluntary Fire Department of Aljezur, and elements of the local Command of the Maritime Police of Lagos were immediately sent to the scene. The Voluntary Firefighters of Aljezur and INEM also went there.
According to the Maritime Authority, the victim was on the sand when he felt ill, and the Aljezur Volunteer Firefighters started resuscitation maneuvers. "Despite the efforts, it was not possible to reverse the situation, with the death being declared on the spot by the INEM doctor."
The victim's body was then transported by the Aljezur Fire Department to the Medical-Legal Office of the Hospital de Portimão.
The local command of the Maritime Police of Lagos took care of the incident.
