The Portimão Chamber, which met for the first time this Wednesday, October 20, has already distributed the portfolios among councilors.
Due to the increase in the number of voters, the municipal executive of the municipality of Portimão is now made up of 9 elements.
Of these, four full-time councilors from the Socialist Party assume responsibilities, with the remaining three councilors not having responsibilities assigned.
Thus, Isilda Gomes will be responsible for the following competences: Financial and Asset Management, Human Resources Management, Legal Affairs, Civil Protection and Security, Administrative Management, Economic Development and Tourism, Information, Communication, Brand and Public Relations, Modernization and Systems of information, Information Security and Data Protection, Rural Area Management and Forestry Technical Office.
As for the full-time councilors, Álvaro Bila was appointed vice-president and substitute for Isilda Gomes in her absences and impediments, assuming the following competences: Relations with Parish Councils, Urban Environment and Climate Change, Public Contracting and Purchasing, Public Lighting and Energy Transition, Medical and Veterinary Service, Municipal Inspection and Occupation of Public Roads, Management of the Fair Park, Traditional Markets and Fairs, Management of Public Equipment Maintenance and Logistics.
Councilor Filipe Vital will continue to be responsible for the following functions: Public Works, Management of the Maintenance and Requalification of Public Space, Planning and Management of Mobility, Management of the Road Network; Management of Public Transport, Management of Parking Concession Contracts, Management and Maintenance of the Fleet and Workshops, Management of Community Funds and Smart Cities.
In turn, Councilwoman Teresa Mendes will maintain the following competences: Education, Social Action and Health, Social Housing and Property Management of Municipal Neighborhoods, Culture, Sports and Youth, Associative Movement, Relations with the Municipality and Consumer Protection.
Finally, Councilor João Gambôa will be responsible for the following competences: Urban Management – Private Works, Spatial Planning, Geographic Information Management, Urban Regeneration and Rehabilitation, Management of the Municipal Aerodrome of Portimão, Cemetery Management and Local Housing Strategy.
The remaining members of the municipal executive are councilors Rui André (PSD), Ana Fazenda (PSD), Luís Carito (Portimão Mais Feliz) and Pedro Xavier (Chega), who perform non-executive functions, with no assigned functions.
The meetings of the municipal executive of Portimão will continue to take place every fortnight, taking place on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, at 10:00 am, in the main hall of Paços do Concelho.
