Ministry of Internal Administration extends until October 31st land-based device for fighting rural fires

The Ministry of Internal Affairs extended until 31 October the land-based device for fighting rural fires in the fire brigades.

«In view of the weather forecasts, which continue to favor the occurrence and development of rural fires», Minister Eduardo Cabrita decided to extend, until the end of this month, the land-based device for fighting rural fires in the fire brigades, in order to «ensure the maintenance of an adequate response device to the risk of rural fire», stresses the ministry in a statement.

This device will maintain a workforce of 3.933 firefighters, corresponding to 798 teams, supported by 848 vehicles, which complement the permanent ground device, and the 41 aerial means that remain in service until the end of October, under the terms of National Operational Directive no. 2.
