European funds support investments of 6 million euros by small and micro-enterprises in the Algarve

42 applications from smaller companies have already been approved, which will "allow the maintenance of 400 jobs"

Small and micro-enterprises in the Algarve will invest a total of nearly 6 million euros, of which 2,23 million will be co-financed by European funds, under 42 applications submitted to the CRESC Algarve 2020 Operational Programme, which have already been approved.

«These projects were proposed by micro and small companies, part of which are located in low-density territories and, in addition to the productive investment to be carried out, will allow the maintenance of 400 jobs in thirteen municipalities in the Algarve, which does not exist in this regulation. the demand to create new jobs», according to the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission, which manages European Union funds for the Algarve region.

The support granted, which comes from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), «aimed at the acquisition of machines, equipment, technological/digital services and quality systems, certification systems that change the productive processes of companies, supporting them in the transition digital, in the energy transition, in the introduction of more environmentally friendly production processes that are, at the same time, a stimulus to national production».

 

 

«Within the scope of the first notice, 25 operations of companies with only Economic Activity Codes (CAE) of economic diversification were approved. The activities associated with the "manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products" are those that present the greatest expression in terms of eligible investment and community financing allocated, followed by operations in the "food industries" and twelve other PPAs of the manufacturing industry, noting considering, by the volume of investment involved, the “repair, maintenance and installation of machinery and equipment”, “wood and cork industries and their works, except furniture; manufacture of wickerwork and wickerwork”, “manufacture of chemical products and synthetic or artificial fibers, except pharmaceutical products” and “printing and reproduction of recorded media””, describes the Algarve CCDR.

"A second notice, aimed at improving the competitiveness of companies, already with the tourism CAEs, allowed the approval of 17 operations considered relevant to accelerate the digital transition and the energy transition, promoting the improvement of company productivity in a context of new business models in this dominant sector in the Region's economy. In these 17 operations, the PPAs with the most eligible investment are "accommodation", "retail trade, except for motor vehicles and motorcycles" and "consultancy and computer programming and related activities", closely followed by "specialized construction activities" and “human health activities””, he adds.
