Witches, monsters, goblins and a Moonspell concert. Albufeira will celebrate, from the 29th to the 31st of October, the "scariest ever" Halloween.
On Friday, the 29th, the program is entirely dedicated to the municipality's schools, with a parade that leaves Avenida da Liberdade, at 19 pm, towards Largo Engenheiro Duarte Pacheco, where many surprises are planned for all children until 00:21 pm
The Mister & Miss Halloween contest, aimed at children up to 12 years old, the Fanfare of the Firefighters Volunteers of Albufeira and the dancers of Associação Soul complete the program of this first night in downtown.
From 20:30, the street entertainment begins on Avenida Sá Carneiro.
«On Saturday, 30th, Albufeira's downtown dives into a true horror scenario, with the streets populated by ghosts, witches and goblins, dragons and giant spiders, a Tunnel of Horrors (Largo Engº Duarte Pacheco) and a Haunted Tunnel (Rua 5th of October, next to the access to Praia do Peneco) and many surprises», says the City Council.
Tonight, the animation at Largo Engº Duarte Pacheco is in charge of Associação Soul, which, from 21 pm, promises to surprise and delight with a performance specially created for the occasion. At Oura Animation, go out again until 00:23.
However, at 22:30 pm, the party extends to Praça dos Pescadores, with the Moonspells, in a show specially designed for a night of witches.
On Sunday, the 31st of October, the entertainment will start at 19 pm with a ghostly parade, followed by animation by the Al-Fanfare Group and the performance of Associação Soul, at Largo Engº Duarte Pacheco, from 00 pm. That night there will also be a Pumpkin Contest.
Local businesses joined the party, decorating shop windows, bars and restaurants with motifs alluding to the theme. The most original and frightening showcase will be distinguished in the Showcase Contest organized for this purpose.
On Avenida Sá Carneiro, in Oura, the entertainment goes out again, from 20:30 pm to 23:00 pm. The festivities close around 00:00.
Due to the Halloween celebrations, Rua 5 de Outubro will be closed to traffic on the 29th, 30th and 31st of October, between 19:00 and 00:00.
The Halloween celebrations are organized by the Municipality of Albufeira with the collaboration of downtown merchants, Associação South Crew, Grupo Desportivo das Areias de São João and Associação Soul.
