First Private Protected Area in the Algarve born in Aljezur

The initiative is the result of the dream of Raban von Mentzingen and his family

The country's second Private Protected Area (APP) – and the first in the Algarve – was created in Vale das Amoreiras, in Aljezur, and is due to the work of RWSW Rewilding Southwest, newly created Aljezur Nature and Environment Development Association, which will be presented this Tuesday, September 14th.

This presentation includes a visit to this Private Protected Area, officially formalized this September.

The APP is the result of the work already developed by the Association and will guarantee the full protection of the Carvalhal Forest of Vale das Amoreiras.

The initiative "derives from the dream of Raban von Mentzingen and his family, who wanted to guarantee greater protection to their property, whose natural values stood out in the region, for the enjoyment of future generations."

The official presentation of this association takes place on Ecology day, whose commemorations aim to bring Ecology and society closer together, for the construction of a more sustainable human development.
