The Oncological Association of the Algarve (AOA), will organize the MamaMarathon 21 (MM21), from 10 to 30 October, in a virtual version, and registration for the event is now open. There will be some initiatives in face-to-face format with days scheduled for this purpose.
The MamaMarathon 21, being a virtual event, will have the challenge «to associate as many people as possible to practice sports, be it walking, running, climbing stairs, swimming, among others, as long as it avoids concentrations of people», says the note from press sent to newsrooms.
In this virtual context, there are no fixed and mandatory routes defined by the organization.
Thus, each participant or group can define, for the respective participation, the route. This will only have as its limit the imagination of each one, and it may even be inside their own home.
Various activities will be part of the event's program, including the in-person format of the initiative, with days scheduled for this purpose that complied with, in an organized manner, the recommendations of the General Directorate of Health.
Thus, on 10 October, the Algarve Athletics Association (AAALG) will integrate mini (21 kilometers) and half marathons (10 kilometers) into the MamaMarathon 21 program, with a solidarity component.
Also the AOA, together with its partners, defined a route of seven kilometers for a march/race in Quarteira, to take place on the 24th of October, if the measures of the DGS so allow.
The 21st edition of the MamaMarathon aims to raise awareness of cancer prevention, particularly breast cancer, raise awareness of a healthy lifestyle, through physical exercise and raise funds to support cancer patients and their families.
Entries have a donation value of your choice, from one euro, and include an official event dorsal and/or promotional items.
