Teia d'Impulsos Inclusive Holidays once again contribute to the «well-being of children and young people»

FICA received around 23 children and young people of different ages and special needs

It was another “Summer filled with educational activities and new experiences that entertained and contributed to the development and well-being of children and young people with disabilities”. The Inclusive Holidays for the Algarve Community (FICA) ended last Friday, September 10th, in another initiative of the Teia d'Impulsos association.

Over seven weeks, FICA received around 23 children and young people of different ages and special needs.

The project was once again “installed” at the Engº Nuno Mergulhão Basic School, in Portimão, where, between 26 July and 10 September, most of the activities with these young people took place, including manual work, gymnastics and dance, with the teacher Ana Brito.

“There was also time and space for pool days and water games,” stresses the association.

This summer was marked by special days spent at Quinta Pedagógica de Portimão, promoting therapeutic contact between children and animals, sailing with Vela Solidária or also at sea with Seadolphins, beach mornings with the support of the Parish Council Alvor and a meal at McDonald's that delighted the kids.

The Municipality of Monchique invited FICA to visit the municipal swimming pools and experience the new sensory space Snoezelen, from Espiral de Vontades, which offers various stimuli (among lights, vibrations, aromas and music) that help to work emotions and movements. All these trips were made with Transol.

Teia d'Impulsos thanks Sul Tempera for the t-shirts, later customized with paintings made by the children, and the plastic artist Ana Bernardino Vieira, and her daughter Clarinha, who designed the FICA backpacks.
