Fado will be sung again at the window in the heart of the city of Portimão. It will be on the 15th of September, at 21 pm, that Daniel Pinto Coelho, Adriana Marques, Melissa Simplício and Afonso Silva can be heard from the four windows of the Boa Esperança façade, accompanied on Portuguese guitar by Rafael Pacheco and viola by José Santana.

In the square of the Igreja Matriz in Portimão, the audience will appreciate the singers' fado talents, who will sing with feeling and soul themes familiar to the general public, in a musical initiative inspired by the experiences of the city of Portimão in the 1960s and 1970s.

With free admission, the capacity for “Fado à Janela” will be reduced, in accordance with the norms of the General Directorate of Health, and tickets must be purchased in advance at the Parish Council of Portimão.

This musical show, which will be brightened with lights and colors projected on the facades of Boa Esperança and the Igreja Matriz, refers to the time when canning houses waited at the window for the touch of the factories, announcing the arrival of the toil trawlers loaded with fresh fish, which guaranteed them work and livelihood for their families.

While there was this waiting, and in a shared neighborhood, the women hummed the best-known fados, in some cases in a frenzy and in quite competitive strays, which gave rise to lively moments of popular expression, which the Boa Esperança Atlético Clube Portimonense intends to evoke with this initiative, supported by the Municipality of Portimão and the Parish Council of Portimão.
