The book club cycle “Encontros Literários: O Pleasure da Escrita”, dedicated to contemporary Portuguese poetry, will feature Ana Luísa Amaral, Márcia and Nuno Júdice as guests of the next sessions. The initiative, which will take place in a digital format, will start on 15 October with Raquel Marinho, author of podcast “The Poem teaches how to fall”.
Literary meetings will take place in digital format, always at 21 pm, through the Zoom platform, with free participation.
To start this cycle, on October 15th, the guest will be Raquel Marinho, author of podcast of interviews about poetry and the page of Facebook “The Poem Teaches How to Fall”.
Ana Luísa Amaral, recognized with the prestigious Queen Sofia Award for Ibero-American Poetry, will be present on the 17th of October and, on the 30th, the composer Márcia will be the guest of the reading cycle.
On November 27, to end the initiative, the guest is Nuno Júdice, a poet who received one of the most important national and international literary awards.
The works proposed for reading are “Ágora”, by Ana Luísa Amaral, “As Estradas São para Ir”, by Márcia, and “Regression to Um Cenário Campestre”, by Nuno Júdice.
Curated by two people from the Algarve, Analita Alves dos Santos, writer, trainer and literary activist, and David Roque, writer, history teacher and promoter of creative writing clubs, the reading club's main objective is to foster interaction between lovers of books, the democratization of culture and the encouragement of reading.
Lídia Jorge, Luís Cardoso, Raquel Ochoa, Gonçalo Cadilhe, are some of the Portuguese writers who have already accepted this club's invitation to booklovers.
O book club it already has more than 2 800 members from mainland Portugal, Madeira, Azores, Brazil and a little bit around the world.
