A bird watching walk is the invitation of the municipality of Lagoa, in partnership with the Associação “A Rocha” for this Thursday, 16th of September, at 8:30 am, with a view to making known the birds of the Arade river and the region and celebrating Ecology Day.
«Come with us, discovering the birds, at a time when it is possible to observe the movements of migratory birds all over the Western Algarve», begins by saying the municipality of Lagoa, referring that «it is possible to observe the arrival of wintering species or the departure of those who move to the south in search of climates with milder winters».
At this time of year, the municipality of Lagoa is crossed by migratory birds, mainly from northern Europe, traveling to wintering places.
This activity aims to "raise awareness of the beauty of migratory birds, alerting them to the dangers they face during their movements, as well as raising awareness of the need to preserve the places where they breed and spend the winter", says the municipality .
The meeting point for the bird watching walk will be at the Municipal Park of Sítio das Fontes, in Lagoa.

Program:
9:00 am – Reception of Participants. Start of Activity;
. Travel to Arrozais do Rosário;
. Travel to Rio Arade (to be confirmed);
12:00 – Return to the Municipal Park of Sítio das Fontes.
