Algarve has 205 more cases of Covid-19

Across the country, over 1.822 cases of Covid-19 were reported

The Algarve registers over 205 new cases of Covid-19, according to the bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) this Friday, 3 September, which has just been released.

Across the country, an additional 1.822 cases of Covid-19 were reported.

The North is today the region where there is the greatest number of new cases of infection by the new coronavirus (+630).

Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (+586), Centro (+297), Algarve (+205), Alentejo (+90), Madeira (+13) and Azores (+1) follow.

The Directorate-General for Health reports another six fatalities, having been registered in the Center (3), in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (2) and in the North (1).

As for accumulated numbers, there have been in Portugal, since the beginning of the pandemic, 1.044.144 cases and 17.772 deaths from Covid-19 in Portugal.

Hospital admissions have decreased (-14) and there are now a total of 681 people in need of hospital medical care due to the new coronavirus.

In intensive care, there are also four fewer patients (136 in total).

However, there were an additional 2.464 people who recovered from the disease, leading to a decrease in active cases (-648) to 43.309.

The risk matrix has been updated and has new data.

The incidence rate decreased to 295,5 cases per 100 inhabitants nationwide and to 302,6 in mainland Portugal.

R(t), the transmissibility index, at the national level decreased to 0,96, and to 0,97 only in mainland territory.
