Albufeira has a new “Old Center Route” for residents and tourists

Route starts and ends at the Municipal Tourism Office

Albufeira has, since this Friday, 24th of September, a new “Court of the Old Town” that allows those who like to walk, whether resident or tourist, a main route and three complementary routes to discover the history, heritage and the main points of interest in the area.

Starting and ending at the Albufeira Municipal Tourism Office, the “Old Center Route” will allow hikers to cover 7,1 kilometers, with easy difficulty, with three variants for those who do not want to cover the entirety.

At the beginning of the route, hikers will find a totem with all the explanation of the route, distance, altimetry, heritage to visit and a model of the plates to be followed, which are affixed to the ground.

The route is already available on the “Albufeira Pedestrian Routes” app and leaflets can be requested at all tourist offices in the county.

Explanatory panels with detailed information in Portuguese, English and Braille will also soon be installed on the main monuments and facilities along the route.

There are also three more routes that can be visited with the opportunity to discover what nature has to offer inside the village of Paderne: Castelo, São Vicente and Cerro Grande.

These routes can even be enjoyed by people with disabilities or mobility difficulties, thanks to Jolette, a special bicycle that allows everyone to enjoy the visit.

This equipment is available at the Albufeira Municipal Tourism Office, and to book you can do so by calling 289 599 502 or make the request in person.
