Via do Infante is cut between the nodes of Tavira and Monte Gordo, due to the fire that raged in the municipality of Castro Marim, since the dawn today.
The cut of the A22 is causing long queues both on this road and on the EN125, which is becoming the alternative for traffic. It is for this reason to avoid circulation on any of these roads. There are also cut municipal roads.
However, the Sul Informação found that the fire has already entered the neighboring counties of Tavira and Vila Real de Santo António. RTP1 recently announced that the flames threaten the National Forest of Conceição de Tavira.
The intense smoke that rose this afternoon after the fire rekindling around 15:00 pm, is visible from tens of kilometers away, namely on the beach of Monte Gordo, as seen in the photographs sent to us by our colleague Ana Teresa Alves.
