The management of Hapimag Resort Albufeira has suspended the functions of the chef and the deputy chef of the kitchen “because they demand the improvement of working conditions. At the moment, the workers are awaiting the respective guilty notices», denounced, this Friday, the Union of Hotelaria do Algarve.

According to the union, "at issue is the lack of working conditions, namely, the high temperatures in the kitchen, which reach 54ºC, the smoke that accumulates inside the kitchen and the lack of workers to respond to the increase in activity , between others".

According to the workers, “for about 2 years they have been requesting the resolution of these and other problems that have been aggravating and accumulating. Faced with the alleged lack of resolution of the same, the workers decided to go to the union to expose the situation and to learn about their rights».

The union reveals that "it has already requested an urgent inspection action from the Authority for Working Conditions and next week it will go to the establishment to try to better understand the labor and social situation existing in that hotel".
