September at the Centro Cultural de Lagos has flamenco and a concert by Júlio Resende

There are also exhibitions to see

A flamenco festival and a concert by Júlio Resende which is an “Open Letter to Amália Rodrigues” and is part of the “Fado Fest” are some of the highlights of the month of September at the Centro Cultural de Lagos.

The edition of “Fado Fest” is dedicated to two great figures of this Portuguese genre. The Lisbon Jazz Quintet will be in charge of a tribute show to Carlos do Carmo (September 11), who died earlier this year, recreating the most striking fados and songs of the artist's timeless work.

Celebrating the centenary of the birth of the greatest Fado diva, Júlio Resende will present “Letter Open to Amália Rodrigues” (11th), in a tribute by the pianist to his muse.

Tickets for the concerts, taking place at 21 pm, cost 30 euros (per show) and are available at the Cultural Center reception or through Ticketline.

From the 16th to the 18th of September, the oldest flamenco festival held in Portugal returns, and which is now in its 19th edition. Magic guitars with their own identity, a ball of beauty and passion and, above all, voices full of emotion and party are the ingredients of this initiative that in 2021 brings to Lagos Son y Tacón (16), Alma Flamenca (17) and Vandalus.

The shows will take place at 21 pm on the days indicated, and tickets, purchased at the Centro Cultural de Lagos, will cost 30 euros per show.

With free entry, the exhibitions “Cada Conta, Conta” by Ana Canto (Room 10) and “Cápsula do Tempo” by the Portuguese Serigraphy Center are also on display in this cultural facility (Tuesday to Saturday, from 00:18 am to 00:1 pm). (Rooms 2 and 3) and “2020 – Seeing is believing”, by Paulo Figueiras (Room 0).

On the 18th of September, replacing Paulo Figueiras' exhibition in Room 0, the ceramic exhibition “Playing with fire”, by Adelaide Filipe, will begin.
