Quarteirense Artur Neto wins bronze medal in European karate

Karateca currently represents the KCQ – Karaté Clube de Quarteira

The young man from Quarteira Artur Neto won last Friday, August 20th, a bronze medal at the 48th European Karate Championship. The Loulé Chamber has already congratulated the athlete.

At the age of 17, the karateka who currently represents KCQ – Karaté Clube de Quarteira reached third place on the podium in Kata Júnior, during the European Championship that took place in Tampere, Finland.

In what is his second European Championship, Artur Neto thus managed to add this medal to the three titles achieved as national champion, among other trophies that are already part of his history.

The medal won by Artur Neto was the 50th in the history of national karate (kata e kumite, in European and world championships and European games).

“We are immensely proud to be able to count on such prodigious youngsters in our territory, namely in the sports area, such as Artur Neto. With this provision, it was not only the colors of the National Flag, but also the colors of the municipality of Loulé that gained international visibility», says Vítor Aleixo, president of the Chamber.
