Marque (Tavira) loses the yellow jersey of the Volta a Portugal

Nuno Meireles (Louletano-Loulé Concelho) finished the stage in 9th place

Alejandro Marque (Tuna-General-Tavira-Maria Nova Hotel) lost the yellow jersey of the Volta a Portugal on bicycle, after Rafael Reis (Efapel) won the 7th stage of the competition, held this Thursday, 12 August. 

Today's tirade connected Felgueiras to Bragança (193,2 kilometers) and re-established Rafael Reis.

The cyclist completed the stage in 4 hours, 35 minutes and 30 seconds.

This was Rafael Reis' third victory in this edition of the Volta, having once again won the yellow jersey.

Nuno Meireles (Louletano-Loulé Concelho) finished the stage in 9th place.

Alejandro Marque thus lost the overall lead, being now 28 seconds behind Rafael Reis.

The Algarve's Amaro Antunes occupies the 3rd position, at 33 seconds.

This Friday, the 8th stage of the Volta a Portugal will be run, which will link Bragança to Montalegre (160.7 kilometers), with a final at Serra do Larouco (1st category count).
