Infralobo has a certified Energy Management System

At this time, the company, compared to 2019, has already managed to reduce its annual carbon emissions by 20%

The Energy Management System of the municipal company Infralobo was certified by the General Superintendence Society (SGS) Portugal, in July this year. This is the 25th certified Management System in Portugal and only the second in the Algarve.

The other is that of Inframoura, also a municipal company in Loulé.

According to Infralobo, "this certification is the recognition of systematic and efficient energy management, and confirms the implementation of internal systems and processes that contribute to improving energy efficiency, leading to cost reductions and environmental impacts associated with energy consumption in the activity of the municipal company'.

The INFRALOBO 2021 Decarbonization Plan and the Investment Plan contributed a lot to the success of this certification, which contained a set of concrete measures aimed at the company's daily activity, with a view to reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions to the atmosphere and to increase the use of clean energy sources, namely the production of energy through the implementation of photovoltaic panels, the replacement of vehicles powered by fossil fuels with electric vehicles and the adoption of more responsible behavior by all employees" .

At this time, the company, compared to 2019, has already managed to reduce its annual carbon emission by 20% (predicting a reduction of 55% by the end of 2021), being autonomous from the point of view of electricity by around 40% .
