There is one more death and 215 cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve

There were 17 deaths across the country.

The Algarve has over 215 cases of Covid-19 and has registered another death, the 400th in the region since the start of the pandemic, according to the bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) this Saturday, 7 August, which has just been released .

This number of new infections is lower than that recorded this Friday, when 245 more cases were recorded in the Algarve.

Across the country were reported, in today's report, over 2.621 cases of Covid-19, which represents a slight increase compared to Friday's bulletin (2377 infections).

 

 

With regard to deaths, there were 17 at national level, more than half of these (9) in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, 4 in the North, 2 in Alentejo, 1 in the Center and 1 in the Algarve.

The number of new recoveries was 3.232, which means that the number of active cases has declined and are now 44.018 (-628).

The number of hospital admissions dropped to 828, with 28 fewer than in the last bulletin. Also the number of patients in intensive care units decreased (-8) to 186.

 

The region of Lisbon and Tagus Valley was the one that, according to this Saturday's bulletin, contributed the most to the increase in infections nationwide, registering over 1.075 cases. It is followed by the North, with 878, the Center (216), the Algarve (215), the Alentejo (127), the Azores (73) and Madeira (37).

The number of contacts under surveillance has decreased significantly (-4019) and are now 63.939.

The risk matrix has not changed, continuing with yesterday's numbers. The incidence rate at the national level is 362,7 cases of infection by Covid-19 per 100 inhabitants and 369,2 cases, excluding the islands.

The R(t), the transmissibility index, is at 0,92 both nationally and only on the mainland.
