Living statues return to downtown Albufeira

Festival will take place during the 3rd, 4th and 5th of September, from 18 pm to 00 pm

The Festival of Living Statues is back in Albufeira for a second edition which, for three days, 3, 4 and 5 of September, from 18 pm to 00 pm, promises that “those who visit downtown will be able to find some of the great personalities that over time have marked the history of humanity through their intervention at the political, artistic or social level».

In 2019, the year that marked the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death, the event was dedicated to the great masters of Science and Knowledge.

Last year, the Festival did not take place due to the Covid-19 pandemic and now returns to Albufeira «to make known personalities such as John Lennon, Leonard Cohen, Frank Zappa, Mozart, Byörk, Malala Yousafzai, Gandi, Papa Francisco, Margareth Thatcher, Napoleon, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, Fernando Pessoa, José Saramago, Casa Nova or Frida Khalo», explains the municipality of Albufeires.

The Festival, which is part of the municipality's annual events calendar, will take 5 living statues of personalities whose legacy is considered to be at Largo Eng.º Duarte Pacheco, Avenida 15 de Outubro and Avenida da Liberdade, some of the busiest areas of the city. a milestone for the advancement of our civilization.
