Covid-19: About 6,5 million digital certificates issued in Portugal

About 6,5 million Portuguese, equivalent to 65% of the population, have the European digital certificate that began to be issued on June 16, announced this Tuesday, 24 August, the Shared Services of the Ministry of Health ( SPMS).

"So far, approximately 6,5 million European Union digital certificates have been issued", a document that certifies that its holder has been vaccinated against Covid-19, performed a test with a negative result or has already recovered from the infection by SARS-CoV-2 virus, said the source of the SPMS to Lusa.

These certificates began to be issued in Portugal on June 16th and entered into force throughout the European Union on July 1st, with the aim of facilitating the free movement of citizens in the Member States in a safe manner during the pandemic.

In mainland Portugal, the document is required for air or sea travel, accessing tourist and local accommodation establishments, entering restaurants on weekends and holidays, for group classes in gyms and attending spas and spas, casinos and bingos, weddings and baptisms with more than 10 people, and cultural, sporting or corporate events for more than a thousand people (in an open environment) or 500 people (in a closed environment).

The European Union Covid-19 digital certificate can be obtained via the SNS 24 web portal or the SNS 24 mobile application.
