The National Elections Commission (CNE) banned the honoring of medaled Olympic athletes, an event that the Chamber of Olhão wanted to promote on 18 and 19 September, precisely on the weekend before the local elections scheduled for 26 September, announced the Oyenne PSD.
Welcoming the decision of the CNE that obliges the Municipality to postpone the tribute until after the elections, the Political Commission of the PSD of Olhão stresses that it is “an event of great media impact, which aimed to promote the image of the Municipality and the its president (re-candidate), in clear violation of the duty of impartiality to which municipal executives are obliged in a pre-election period».
