Almancil already has a Producers Market that wants to be «a reference and a model»

Initiative will take place every Thursday

The Almancil Producers' Market was held for the first time on Thursday, 12 August, and, stresses the Câmara de Loulé, “it was immediately remarkably welcomed by producers and consumers who joined in a very significant way. initiative".

According to the municipality, "this market, which is intended exclusively for those who sell their own production, farmers, processors and artisans, aims to bring together and promote the marketing of local products to consumers, restaurants and local businesses, encouraging short circuits, consumption of fresh products, harvested at short notice and the preservation and enhancement of knowledge about the uses of different products and materials».

The City Council believes that this initiative «could contribute to a closer relationship between tourism and the local economy, contributing with its dynamic effect to enhance the quality and specificity of our gastronomic offer, the cared for landscape, the very offer of tourist experiences”.

«It is this symbiosis of factors that will contribute for this weekly event to become a reference and a model to follow in other parts of the municipality», considers the president of the Autarchy of Loulé, Vítor Aleixo.

The market takes place at the headquarters of ASCA – Social and Cultural Association of Almancil and will take place every Thursday, between 7:30 am and 13:00 pm.

The Almancil Producers Market is an initiative of the Municipality of Loulé in partnership with the Almancil Parish Council and the municipal companies Infraquinta and Infralobo.
