Tavirense José Costa and Jorge Lima win regatta at the Olympic Games and rise to 6th position

Dupla won two places in the competition's overall standings

The Algarve sailor José Costa and his colleague Jorge Lima won the ninth race of the 49er competition of the Tokyo2020 Olympic Games, now ranking sixth in the race overall.

Before, in the eighth race, the pair couldn't get better than 10th place. However, in the ninth, he improved, won, and won two places in the fight for the “Medal Race”.

Yesterday, the Clube Naval de Cascais team had achieved a fifth place and a disqualification, which meant that they were in 10th place. but, with the disqualification of two vessels, he rose to 8th place.

This Saturday, the Tavirense José Costa and his colleague Jorge Lima will compete in the last three regattas of the regular phase, with the objective of remaining among the top ten who will compete in a “Medal Race”, scheduled for Monday, 2nd of August.
