The municipality of São Brás de Alportel, during school holidays, is carrying out maintenance and modernization interventions in several basic schools (EB) and kindergartens in the municipality, in a «continuous effort to give school equipment the necessary conditions for quality education, adapted to current requirements».
In this context, works are underway at the EB1 in Alportel, Mesquita, Vilarinhos, as well as the Corotelo Kindergarten, in São Brás de Alportel.
These spaces are being the target of maintenance work by direct administration, namely in terms of painting and repairs to cracks, repair of leaks in walls and walls, renovation of protection guards and equipment, among other works.
The works are being carried out by the municipality's technical and operational services, «in a collective effort that involves all sectors of the Municipal Council, in close coordination with the José Belchior Viegas School Group», says the municipality.
After the start of the school vacation period, «this is the right time to carry out these more demanding and in-depth maintenance works in terms of infrastructure that this year had its start at the EB1 School of Vilarinhos, where, in addition to the work at the level of the windows, doors and technical equipment essential for the good state of conservation of the school park were also checked”, he adds.
The maintenance and enhancement of these infrastructures in the county "is a demanding and continuous work, which is a priority both in terms of preservation and use", which requires a phased and rigorous planning, also often accompanied by available financing processes for this effect.
These investments in education are continuous and in close articulation with the school group, defining priorities and intervention needs in each school equipment.
