São Brás de Alportel once again delivers Vales + Educação to students in the municipality

The municipality of São Brás de Alportel will renew the attribution of Vale + Educação to support São Brásense students, from the 1st cycle to secondary education, to attend schools in the municipality. The measure was approved by the municipality on July 20th and announced this Wednesday, 28th.

This is a measure "aware of the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and of the challenges that it entailed and that posed families and companies with their limited income", says the municipality.

Each student will receive a voucher of 25 euros to purchase school material in local businesses, providing support to the municipality's economy.

“The support will be extended to students residing in the municipality who, due to the absence of an educational offer at the José Belchior Viegas Secondary School, are attending a secondary school in another municipality”, he adds.

This initiative of the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel has the collaboration of the José Belchior Viegas School Group and its Association of Parents and Guardians, through «the formalization of a cooperation protocol, on the 22nd of July, thus fostering the involvement of key stakeholders in this process'.

Until the 2019/2020 school year, the Vale + Educação was given to students from the 1st to the 3rd cycle and consisted of a 20 euro voucher.

The reinforcement and expansion launched in 2020, during the difficulties experienced by the pandemic, and now renewed represent a municipal investment of 35 thousand euros to support families and the local economy.

Vouchers + Educação are available for collection at the Paços do Concelho building, in São Brás de Alportel, from August 16th to October 30th, on weekdays from 9:00 am to 16:00 pm, upon presentation of the guardian's citizen card. of education and the learner.

Vale + Educação is a measure integrated in the Family Support Plan, launched by the municipality in 2015, with valences in other areas.

This voucher intends to be «an important tool to help families and encourage education, essential in building a society better prepared for the increasingly demanding and global challenges of the future», concludes the São Brasense autarchy.
