João Vasconcelos presented BE's candidacy to the Portimão Chamber

Presentation included Pedro Filipe Soares, parliamentary leader of the Left Bloc

João Vasconcelos he presented his candidacy to the Municipality of Portimão, by Bloco de Esquerda (BE), this Sunday afternoon, July 11, in Jardim 1º de Dezembro.

The presentation featured Pedro Filipe Soares, BE parliamentary leader.

João Vasconcelos guaranteed that this «will be a team that will join forces for a new, alternative, autarchic policy for the municipality of Portimão».

«The Left Block candidacy in Portimão will join forces for a new autarchic agenda, alternative, in this city and in this municipality, to overcome the crisis and fight inequalities, taking into account the rights of citizenship, participation, transparency and the fight against corruption, full equality and respect for minorities, the defense of space and public services, a greener city and environmental sustainability, the right to housing and more fiscal justice”.

This is a "candidacy of hope for a better future for Portimão, an alternative candidacy that Portimão will be able to trust", concluded the blocist candidate for the Portimão Chamber.

João Vasconcelos has been, since 2015, deputy to the Assembly of the Republic, elected by the circle of Faro, and councilor of the Portimão City Council since 2013. He is 65 years old, married, has three children and is a history teacher.

Union member, he belonged to the Direction of the Union of Teachers of the South Zone and of the National Council of FENPROF.
