João Paulo Félix who is “Running Portugal for the Rights of the Child” visited Lagoa

In all, the ultramarathoner will run 2222 kilometers

The athlete João Paulo Félix is ​​“Running Portugal for the rights of the Child” and, last Thursday, he passed through Lagoa, where he was received by Luís Encarnação, president of the Chamber, by Ana Martins, councilor, by the Commission for the Protection of Children and Young People from Lagoa and by the athletes of Associação Académica da Bela Vista and Sporting Clube Lagoense.

João Paulo Félix will cover 2222 kilometers, in 40 days, in 40 stages, in 40 ultramarathons. This is how this year's edition of “Running back to Portugal” will be “aimed at drawing public attention to the values ​​it most defends”.

The Commission for the Protection of Children and Youth of Lagoa, in conjunction with the Municipality of Lagoa, «organized a small reception for the athlete in order to have his race passport stamped, as well as to reiterate the commitment of this Committee and the Municipality to the rights of the child”, emphasizes the municipality.

The National Commission for the Promotion of the Rights and Protection of Children and Youth is associated with the initiative, supporting and encouraging the athlete in the defense of this cause, which translates one of its mottos: “Protecting children belongs to everyone”.

Also the CPCJ of the places where the race will pass, join this idea, organizing actions with the community, to welcome the athlete João Paulo Félix.

Luis Encarnação, Mayor of Lagoa congratulated the athlete for the initiative and wished him strength and resilience for the route that still needs to be covered and that the same can be done safely.
