Fernando Correia, journalist and commentator, will present his latest book “Diário de um corpo semmemory” this Friday, July 9th, at 18 pm, at Lídia Jorge Municipal Library, in Albufeira.

Published by Guerra e Paz, the work consists of «a testimonial narrative in the first person about Alzheimer's disease, of which Vera, the mother of her daughters, is a victim», says the municipality of Albufeira.

The presentation will be made by his friend – and also a journalist – Arménio Aleluia Martins.

The author shows that, even in the case of an inhibiting disease, with no possibility of recovery, the body, deprived of part of its memories, «can use a close and friendly soul to speak for itself, transmitting anguish, pain, tears, uncertainties, but also an enormous faith that it is possible to cross the desert that stretches in front of them together», says the editor.

Fernando Correia was a journalist, radio and television commentator, teacher. Born in 1935, he divided his childhood between Mouraria, Alto de Santo Amaro and São Domingos de Benfica. He joined the National Broadcaster in 1958, having later worked at RDP, Rádio Clube Português, Rádio Comercial and TSF.

He was director of Diário Desportivo, editor and contributor to the newspapers Record, A Capital, O Diário, Gazeta dos Sports, Jornal de Notícias and Diário Popular. He collaborated on Rádio Amália and was a resident commentator at TVI.

An assumed sportinguist, he also collaborated with Sporting TV, after having been deputy director and director of the club's newspaper.

Author of more than ten and a half of books, Fernando Correia has already presented in Albufeira, among others, the works “Piso 3 – Quarto 313” (2015) and “O Homem que não age” (2016) and “What if I were God?" (2017).
