Covid-19: 2,5% of the population answered “no” to the scheduling SMS

Gouveia e Melo is currently being heard about the vaccination process against covid-19

The coordinator of the vaccination plan against Covid-19 revealed today, 23 July, that, in total, 2,5% of the population answered “no” to the message received to schedule the vaccine and, when there were more queues, 2,7, XNUMX% missed the appointment.

Henrique Gouveia e Melo, who responded to the deputies of the Parliamentary Health Commission, where he is currently being heard about the vaccination process against Covid-19, also underlined that “there is no symptom of lack of adherence to vaccines, even in the ranges younger age groups'.

“There is no concern [about this matter], but you have to be careful. It's an important issue,” he said.

Questioned by the deputies, Gouveia e Melo made a positive assessment of the Open House initiative, initially created to fetch the last people of age groups when they are almost closed.

He explained that authorities ended up also using this method to move forward with second doses of AstraZeneca when the interval between doses was reduced from 12 to eight weeks, a situation that – he said – “did not significantly change the schedules as it represented a tiny percentage of the daily schedules ».

"Even in the worst moments we had 7% of the vaccination centers with more than an hour of waiting", he said.

He explained, however, that as the Open House method is a little messy, it is intended to order, creating passwords that the vaccination centers decide to assign to the freest vaccination mode and that people can "capture by mobile phone", appearing later for the vaccine.

Regarding the vaccination of the most disadvantaged migrants, Gouveia e Mello said that the data available point to 25 thousand vaccinated.

“We've been doing as much as we can, speeding up processes and facilitating control so we don't push them out of the process,” he explained.
