Castro Marim requalifies streets in Foz de Odeleite

This is a municipal investment of 95 thousand euros

The municipality of Castro Marim put forward a tender for the work related to the requalification of public space in Foz de Odeleite, in an investment of 95 thousand euros.

This work has been "long wanted by the inhabitants of Foz de Odeleite" and will "put an end to the difficulties of moving around the streets in schist stone, very irregular and with several depressions due to the non-mortared joints", says the municipality.

The project “has always caused a serious impediment to the movement of the inhabitants, mostly aged”.

The requalification will not only focus on the schist streets, it is also planned to refurbish the concrete paved areas, which show wear and tear, and the paving of some sections that are still on unpaved earth.

The Castro Marim City Council has been carrying out a series of works to improve the streets in various towns in the municipality, seeking to «preserve the quality of circulation, not only by cars, but also by pedestrians», with interventions in Odeleite and Azinhal being some of the most recent, concludes the municipality.
