Tavira City Council will increase from 145 to 175 the free distribution of hot meals, starting in June, within the scope of the Interinstitutional Network for the distribution of social meals – Programa Tavira Solidária.
The production of meals will be increased, thus providing the entire municipality with this response from the municipality in supporting the most vulnerable families.
The reinforcement results in an investment by the municipality of more than 250 thousand euros, in a measure taken in view of the worsening economic conditions resulting from the current pandemic state.
This measure will count on the collaboration of eight social support institutions in the municipality, namely the Casa do Povo da Luz de Tavira, Tavira Humanitarian Center – CVP, Santo Estêvão Social Center, Cachopo Parish Center, Nossa Senhora das Dores Social Center , Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Tavira, “O Pontão”- Solidarity Association of Conceição de Tavira and “Âncora”- Santa Luzia Community Center Association.
