Faro returns to the «international capital of design» between 21 and 26 June

Conferences, exhibitions, workshops, pop-up stores and performances are part of the festival

The Algarve Design Meeting (ADM) is back at the premises of the former Fábrica da Cerveja, in Faro, for its 10th edition. The event, which is the largest in the area of ​​design in the south of the country, takes place between 21 and 26 June.

During these days, the city of Faro it will become «the international capital of design, where institutions, companies, professors, researchers, professionals and the general public can, through various activities, come into contact with various projects and talents existing in these sectors of the creative industry, fostering knowledge among different collectives in our society», highlights the University of Algarve (UAlg), which promotes the ADM, in partnership with the Chamber of Faro and the National Association of Designers.

This edition, says the Algarve Academy, «has a series of activities, such as conferences, exhibitions, workshops, pop-up stores, performances, as well as the well-known videomapping festival», on the façade of the Cathedral.

 

 

ADM has gained international notoriety, having already promoted more than 90 exhibitions, around 50 workshops, 9 conferences with the participation of more than 140 national and international speakers, more than six dozen pop-up stores, six Videomapping festivals, five sessions of open-air cinema and hundreds of visitors.

«This is a work of continuity, which has become a reference in the dissemination and promotion of design, by the University of Algarve and the city of Faro, and whose mission is also to affirm the southern region of the country on the map of major international events in the area of ​​creative industries», concludes the University of Algarve.
