The new walkway at Altura beach will be inaugurated next Thursday, June 24th, at 18:00, during the celebrations of the Castro Marim Municipal Day.

But the party will also be made with music, which will be guaranteed by Luís Trigacheiro, winner of The Voice Portugal, and with theater, with the play “Móce mó”, by the Theater Group “A Gorda”, with João Evaristo and Joaquim Parra
The shows, which will be open to the community, but «with the limitations inherent to the control of the Covid-19 pandemic», will take place at Revelim de Santo António from 21 pm.
The commemoration program begins with the raising of the flag at 9:00 am, followed by a visit to the exhibitions of the Presidents of Democracy Gallery and of the Coat of Arms of the Municipality of Castro Marim, on display in the municipality's headquarters building.
This will be followed by the Solemn session, at 11:00 am, at the Castro Marim Municipal Library, where employees with over 25 years of public service will be honored and where a promotional video on water will be presented, made within the scope of the water supply project. to 32 villages in the interior of the county.
Before the cultural entertainment, scheduled for the evening, attention will be focused on the intervention in Altura, which consisted of “the elevation of a walkway between Praia da Verdelago (Altura) and Praia da Lota (Manta Rota), passing on the Alamo river by a bridge».
«It is a walkway measuring about 1500 meters, with a width of 3 meters, which winds through the dune system, embracing the beach support framing the seafront and with areas for rest, lighting and music. The intervention also involves the redevelopment of five existing accesses to the beach», according to the Chamber of Castro Marim.
The work results from an investment of around 753 thousand euros, within the scope of the PO SEUR (Operational Program for Sustainability and Efficiency in the Use of Resources) of Portugal 2020, 75% co-financed by the cohesion fund.
Both the national counterpart and the non-eligible expenditure are reimbursed under the line BEI PT 2020 – Municipalities, Framework Loan signed between the EIB, the European Investment Bank, and Portugal.
