Silves and UAlg sign protocol to investigate the county's cultural heritage

Ceremony was broadcast through the municipality's social networks

This Tuesday, 18 May, the Municipality of Silves and the University of Algarve (UAlg) signed a collaboration protocol with the aim of establishing partnerships in research projects that prove to be of mutual interest.

"This partnership agreement is of paramount importance because it will make it possible to join efforts for the development of research projects to be implemented in the context of the study, enhancement and dissemination of the cultural heritage of the municipality of Silves," said Rosa Palma, Mayor of Silves.

The mayor added that “research will be developed on several fronts, namely in the areas of History (from ancient prehistory to contemporary history), Archeology (terrestrial and maritime), Archaeosciences (geoarcheology, paleobotany, archaeozoology , Archaeometry), History of Art, Anthropology (physical and social), Conservation and Restoration, and Documentation and Archival Sciences».

The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Silves, the rector of the University of Algarve, the director of the Center for Studies in Archeology, Arts and Heritage Sciences at UAlg and the director of the Municipal Museum of Archeology of Silves.

The ceremony had transmission through the municipality's social networks.
