Who wants to visit Moinho do Bengado?

This initiative marks the start of a tourist dynamization program and volunteer projects

During the month of May, Moinho do Bengado, in São Brás de Alportel, has visits performed by a couple of Dutch millers, on Sunday afternoons and also on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

According to the City Council of São Brás de Alportel, «this relevant historical and cultural legacy can now be visited on Wednesday mornings and Thursday afternoons, by appointment with the Municipal Tourism Office, as well as on other dates and schedules by prior appointment, and through agreements to be established with tourism agents and entities».

This new program has a volunteer project, developed by a couple of Dutch millers, residing in the region, who will share knowledge, secrets and their immense passion for the mills with visitors.

This initiative marks the start of a tourist dynamization program and volunteer projects that allow the Mill to receive visitors on Sunday afternoons, from 15:00 pm to 18:00 pm, during this month, as well as on Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 9:30 am to 13:30 pm, and from 14:00 pm to 17:00 pm, respectively.

Although Sundays are free, visits on weekdays require prior appointment with the Municipal Tourism Office, operating at the Arts and Crafts Center of São Brás de Alportel or by calling 289 840 210 or turismo@cm- sbras.pt.

Moinho is also part of the Environmental Education strategy, coordinated by the Environmental Education Service, based in Quinta do Peral.
