Portimonense managed to remain in the I League of football, while Farense dropped from division, the results of the last round, played this Wednesday, May 19th, dictated.
What seemed to be more natural, ended up being fulfilled: Portimonense, who had an easier task at the start, despite playing against Braga, actually achieved permanence, but Farense, who was forced to score and wait for results of third parties, was not so lucky.
In the Azores, Jorge Costa's team was keeping a close eye on what was happening in the games Gil Vicente-Boavista and Nacional-Rio Ave and the truth is that, for a few minutes of the first half, Farense was even in a play-off position.
The Algarvians were tied to zero when Nacional scored against Rio Ave (10′). Farense sent a ball to the crossbar, in the 22nd minute, with a shot by Fabrício, but ended up suffering at 33′ with a goal by Cryzan.
