A space for promoting employability, training and developing entrepreneurial projects and supporting local companies and institutions. These are the functions of Fábrica do Empreendedor de Lagoa, which officially opened on April 29, at the Secretariat of the Park of Fairs and Exhibitions FATACIL, in that city.
Fábrica do Empreendedor «is mainly intended for unemployed and precarious workers in the municipality who, entirely free of charge, have support in active job search, access to training in various areas and help to develop entrepreneurial skills and create small businesses and/or dynamize projects of community intervention and territorial animation», explains the Câmara de Lagoa in a press release.
Local companies and institutions can also benefit from various services, «such as support for the recruitment and selection processes of human resources, training processes and support for the development of applications for measures to support hiring».
This partnership between the Municipality and SEA – Social Entrepreneurs Agency also results in StartLab, a local business incubator to support entrepreneurial micro-initiatives that contribute to the development of economic activities, fight unemployment and promote social inclusion and innovation.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several businessmen from the municipality, key partners of Fábrica do Empreendedor, and other projects to promote employment and entrepreneurship in the municipality, which have the financial support of European funds.
For the Mayor Luís Encarnação, «the aim of Fábrica do Empreendedor de Lagoa and StartLab is to find innovative solutions with social impact, create jobs and network with communities, the business fabric and social organizations» .
"Today, more than ever, we have to invest in entrepreneurship, employment and people," added the mayor.
Fábrica do Empreendedor is an initiative of the Municipality of Lagoa, in partnership with SEA – Social Entrepreneurs Agency – co-financed by CRESCalgarve 2020, Portugal 2020 and FEDER – European Regional Development Fund, which works in conjunction with the Economic Development Division of the local authority, particularly with the Entrepreneur's Desk.
