The Reactivate Tourism|Building the Future Plan, presented today by the Minister of Economy, foresees an investment of more than 6 billion euros in the Portuguese tourism sector to surpass the target of 27 billion euros in tourist revenues in 2027.

“Our goal is to reach 2027 at the level we projected in 2017. In 2017, we projected a growth rate in tourist revenue that would reach 27 billion euros in 2027. The crisis could leave us below this target. Our plan aims to place us at this level and even, if possible, surpass it”, said the Minister of State, Economy and Digital Transition, Pedro Siza Vieira, at the plan's presentation session.

Of the total investment of 6.112 million euros foreseen in the Reactivate Tourism|Building the Future Plan, the largest slice, 4.075 million euros, will be provided by Banco Português do Fomento, which will channel a sum of 3.000 million euros to support the companies in the tourism sector.
